Yep, this nail polish junkie couldn’t resist adding a few more shades to the stash. In all fairness it has been such a long time since I last bought nail polish and when it comes to polish, Barry M will always be up there as one of my favourites. I managed to resist the Speedy Quick Dry range for a whole year (seriously, how has it been a year since these were first released?!) but today I’m bringing you my thoughts on three of the shades from the range – Speed Demon, Turbo Charged & Pole Position.
As the name would suggest, the Speedy Quick Dry range was released for all of us who have wished for quick drying nail polish that won’t get smudged. I personally love painting my nails quite regularly and like to change up the colours quite a lot, but my biggest bug-bear has always been nail polish that looks like it’s dry but will still smudge or dent when I try to do anything. Thankfully the Speedy Quick Dry polishes do just what they say on the tin – they are quick drying and make nail painting a lot less stressful.
Another thing that has really impressed me is that these polishes come with a much thicker and wider brush than you would normally find from Barry M, and this brush makes application even more quick and easy. While these polishes are indeed quick drying, the only downside I’ve found is that they take 3 coats before the colour is fully opaque with no nail showing through. I’m normally a 2 coats gal but I’m sure I can make an exception for these pretty shades..
Speed Demon – a pretty baby pink with subtle shimmer. You can never have too many bottles of pink nail polish, right? I can’t seem to help myself when it comes to pinks and this particular shade is a very welcome addition to my stash. This is a blue toned baby pink that will be getting a lot of love over the spring and summer months, that’s for sure!
Turbo Charged – a gorgeous coral with shimmer. It wouldn’t be spring and summer without a coral shade on the nails and lips, so you can imagine that I’m very excited to be rocking this shade in the coming months when it gets a bit warmer. I’d describe Turbo Charge as the perfect mix of orange and red, and I can’t wait to pair it with a tan this summer.
Pole Position – a fresh minty green shade with no shimmer. The pastel lover in me just couldn’t resist Pole Position as it’s such a gorgeous mint green, and it’s a shade that I can see myself wearing all year round as it’s not too bright or in-your-face. Mint nails might not be very groundbreaking or original, but it’s a colour that I can’t see ever going out of style.
I’d love to know – have you tried any of the Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paints?
