Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder

If you’re a regular here then you’ll probably know that I suffer from very oily roots and always have to have dry shampoo to hand. I’m an avid user of Batiste dry shampoo (Blush and Tropical are my favourites) but decided that it was time to change things up, so I went searching for an alternative. I was lucky enough to receive a set of Bumble and Bumble minis a couple of Christmases back and remembered that I had a tiny bottle of Pret-a-Powder in the cupboard, so it seemed like the perfect time to give it a go.

First things first, this sample size may look incredibly titchy (especially in person) but it contains a surprising amount of product as a little ready does go a long way. The full size bottle has 56g of product so I can’t even imagine how long it would last you. When it comes to applying the powder, I tend to do in one of two ways. When I’m in a hurry and want to give my roots a quick freshen up, I tend to give the bottle a shake and apply it directly to my hair before rubbing it in. It’s such a simple way of doing it, but I’ll admit that it doesn’t give you much control over where the powder actually goes. To combat this, I usually take the time to shake a little bit of powder in the palm of my hand and then apply to my roots, making sure to massage it in well as it can leave a slight white cast in the hair.

I’ve been using Pret-a-Powder exclusively for the last few weeks and can honestly say that I’ve been very impressed it. What I love is that this powder not only freshens up the hair by soaking up oil, but it also adds amazing texture and volume to the roots without leaving your hair feeling crispy or sticky. Pret-a-Powder does come with a hefty price tag (£23 for 56g) but it’s a product I can definitely see myself repurchasing when the time comes, although I’ve hardly made a dent in my sample size so it could be quite a while away!

I’d love to know – what’s your favourite dry shampoo?
