Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duos

Do you remember the hype surrounding the launch of Fenty Beauty back in September 2017? I sure do! I remember watching so many first impressions reviews on YouTube and deciding that I had to try out one of Rihanna’s Killawatt Highlighter Duos – the Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal duo to be precise – after seeing it glowing on Jamie Genevieve‘s cheeks. It turns out I was a bit naughty and actually picked up 2 of the duos as I’m a bit of a highlighter fiend, and here’s what I think about them…

Firstly, I love the packaging. Between the luxe looking white-iridescent finish, hexagonal shape, sturdy plastic material and large mirror inside, I can’t get enough of how these highlighter duos look. In the end I went for the Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal and Mean Money/Hustla Baby duos as the colours looked right up my street and a good match for my fairer skin, and I’m so happy with both choices as they’re both so wearable! Both duos have a slightly more subtle highlighter that’s perfect for everyday wear, and the other that’s more pigmented and can definitely be built up for creating the ultimate glow.

All 4 highlighting powders have a lovely formula that’s buttery soft and very easy to blend, leaving your skin looking very healthy with a gorgeous glow. I like to apply the highlighters with a fan brush as I find this gives the most natural but glowy look, and it’s much harder to go overboard with shimmer when you’re using a fan brush.

All in all I think Rihanna did an amazing job creating these highlighter duos as the colours are so wearable and the formulas are a joy to use! Each duo will set you back £26 and while that may seem a bit pricey, a little really does go a long way so I can see the highlighters lasting a very long time. Have you tried anything from Fenty Beauty yet?
