Makeup Revolution Base Products | Worth the hype?

Remember the hype surrounding these 2 base products from Makeup Revolution when they were released a few months back? I was certainly one that got sucked in by the hype and made it my mission to track down the Fast Base Foundation Stick and Conceal & Define Concealer in my shade (the palest, of course). I finally managed to get my hands on both when they became available again on the Superdrug website, and the rest is history. So much so that I’ve since used up both products completely, so it’ll probably come as no surprise that this is a rave review, through and through.

Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick | £5

Let’s start with my absolute favourite of the two, the Fast Base Foundation Stick that has proven itself to be the perfect type of foundation for my dry-prone skin. This foundation stick is super creamy but still manages to do a great job of staying put and set on the skin, even on the hottest of days (this + the All Nighter Spray are a match made in makeup heaven). I have this foundation in the fairest shade, F1, and it’s a fab match for my very fair skin. It’s also perfect for summer wear as it gives skin a gorgeous healthy glow that doesn’t look oily or cakey, and I’ve found it to work best when blended with a wet sponge as it has such a natural looking finish. All in all it’s a winner in my books, and one that I’ve already repurchased as I can’t be without this amazing foundation stick.

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer | £4

Next up is the Conceal & Define Concealer – another Makeup Revolution base product that has seen so much praise online and one that has been compared to many higher end concealers already on the market. Again I opted for the palest shade in the range, C1, and I’ve found that it complements the fairest shade of the foundation stick nicely as it’s a tad lighter – great for brightening the under eyes. The concealer comes with a doe foot applicator that is easy to use, and the formula is creamy but fairly thick which gives great coverage whether you’re looking to disguise dark circles, blemishes or redness.

Thanks to Makeup Revolution for two great products that really are worth the hype… they’ve outdone themselves with these beauty bargains! I’d love to know – have you tried either of these base products yet?
