It’s no secret that I love to stock up on goodies from The Body Shop when they run their 50% £50 spend offers and this latest haul is certainly no exception. I’ve actually had these products since Christmas but never got around to posting about my haul, so here’s my thoughts on all the products now that I’ve had some time to use them properly…
I’ve already used up (and loved) the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, so I thought it was about time I tried out the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. For a start this cleansing butter smells so nice and calming, making it the perfect scent for removing makeup at night, but it’s also super soft and buttery which makes it incredibly easy to apply all over the face. The formula does a great job of removing makeup and even makes light work of melting away my stubborn liquid liner. My favourite way to use this product is to apply a layer of the butter over the skin, add a little water, use a facial loofah to gently remove makeup and exfoliate the skin, and then finish by removing the excess with a wet cloth.
As a huge fan of the banana haircare range from The Body Shop, I just had to get my hands on the Banana Truly Nourishing Hair Mask. Aside from its delicious banana milkshake scent, I also love that this mask does a great job of nourishing the ends of my hair and feels like a real treat when I use it. I’m very much into reverse-washing my hair at the moment (conditioner before shampoo), so I tend to give my hair a quick rinse, apply a generous amount of the mask on my ends and then leave to work its magic for 5 minutes before washing off.
As well as treating my hair to a new mask, I also picked up the Fuji Green Tea Cleansing Hair Scrub to really give my scalp some TLC. I tend to have flat, straight hair with oily-prone roots so dry shampoo and styling sprays are a must, and anything that’s going to fully cleanse my scalp and roots is a must for me. I love that you can really feel this scrub getting to work with a slight tingling sensation once it has been massaged into the scalp and then rinsed away, and what I’m left with is squeaky clean roots that also have a bit of lift which is a lovely bonus.
For all the fellow fair-skinned gals out there who really struggle to get the perfect foundation shade match I’ve got just the thing for you… Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops. Just add a few drops of this lightening liquid to your foundation before applying and it’ll instantly remove the orange or muddy tones of foundation to give you a much better match. It may take a bit of trial and error to get the right mix of foundation and lightening drops, but I promise you that it’s well worth it when you can easily wear any foundation in your stash no matter what shade it is!
Last but not least, I thought it was about time I finally tested out a concealer from The Body Shop. I decided to pick up the All-in-One Concealer Stick as I thought it would be great for adding coverage but also nourishing the under-eyes thanks to its conditioning Vitamin E centre, and boy does it do a good job of instantly brightening the skin under my eyes in the mornings. It’s a light to medium coverage that can be built up so you don’t need to worry about it looking cakey, and it applies so smoothly to the skin thanks to the nourishing formula so it’s a dream to use. Unfortunately it looks like this concealer has now been discontinued, but if you ever come across it again then I’d highly recommend giving it a go.
