Shopping my stash | Eyeshadow

If ever there was something I was guilty of hoarding, it would be eyeshadow. No matter how many shadows and palettes I have in my life I’m always drawn to new releases, especially when the colours in question are neutral as I just can’t seem to say no to neutrals. Because of this I’ve decided to shop my stash and show some love to eyeshadows that have somehow made their way to the back of my dressing table drawer.

I do love a good cream eyeshadow and in particular I like to reach for the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots as they apply so nicely and last well on the lids all day long, but one of my old favourites Painterly had unfortunately been forgotten about. I’m really enjoying using this nude beige as a base all over the lids and hope to keep this in my everyday makeup for a long time to come!

When it comes to powder eyeshadow, one of my favourite brands has to be NARS. While they do come with a hefty price tag, their quality really is worth it in my eyes – especially if you pick up a neutral shade that can be worn every day. I’m happy to have Ashes to Ashes back in my everyday makeup stash as it’s such a beautiful colour and is the perfect shade to use for a subtle-looking smokey eye at work.

Last but not least, I couldn’t not include an eyeshadow palette as I’ve accumulated some beautiful palettes over the use that deserve some love. Unfortunately the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette was limited edition and is now not available in shops, but I just had to add it to my everyday routine again as it’s such a beauty. The mix of neutral and bright mattes and shimmers excites me every time I open this palette, and it features the amazing quality of smooth and buttery shadows that we’ve all come to love from Urban Decay.

I’ve love to know – do you ever shop your stash for old favourites?

I am so with you on hoarding eyeshadow – I have more than enough to wear a different colour for the next 5 years! I so regret not getting the UD Gwen palette – it is gorgeous.
