My combination skin can be a bit of a nightmare to deal with as I have some very dry patches and an oily t-zone, so finding the right skincare products has been a bit of a struggle. However, I’m very happy to say that I’ve finally found a few products that do just what I’ve been looking for. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar range has seen plenty of love in the blogging world and because of this I wanted to give it a go too. Boy am I happy that I did! The Effaclar range targets oily skin with imperfections which is definitely up my street as my skin is also quite blemish prone, especially hormonal breakouts around my chin.
Effaclar Mat Sebo-Regulating Moisturizer – Moisturiser can be a tricky one when you’ve got oily skin, but Effaclar Mat does a great job of keeping my dry areas hydrated while still keeping my oily t-zone at bay. The mattifying formula reduces any shine on my skin and manages to keep my foundation in place, as it can be known to slip off the skin if I haven’t used the right moisturiser. This cream can also be used as a base for makeup, although I’d only rely on this for lighter makeup days as I wouldn’t want to risk drying out my skin too much.
Effaclar Astringent Micro-Exfoliant Lotion – I’ve found this mirco-exfoliant lotion to be great as a toner for oily prone skin as it does a lovely job of really tightening my pores, giving them a good clear out and minimising their appearance too. I suffer from large-ish pores on my cheeks and around my nose so this liquid toner is a godsend, and it also manages to give my skin a good clear out without leaving it feeling dry and agitated. I like to reach for this toner in the morning after cleansing as I love the condition it leaves my skin in before applying my moisturiser.
Effaclar Duo [+] Corrective Unclogging Care – Last but not least, I couldn’t rave about the Effaclar range without expressing my love for the Effaclar Duo [+]. This skin treatment is an absolute must-have for me as it unclogs my blemish prone skin like nothing else, and I can rely on it no matter how bad my skin is breaking out. You only need to apply a tiny amount of product to the face, and I tend to concentrate the cream on any breakouts or imperfections overnight as it can dry out the skin while working its magic. I also love that the Effaclar Duo [+] does an amazing job of reducing any marks or scars left by blemishes as my chin is very prone to this.
