I know I’m extremely late to the party, but I thought it was about time I finally posted about my first impressions of Glossier – one of the brands that’s taken the beauty world by storm and still seems to be with its recent new releases. I’ve actually had these products since Christmas (thanks to the husband for a fab Christmas present) so I’ve had plenty of time to test them out. Here’s how I got on with the Glossier Phase 1 Set..
Milky Jelly Cleanser
I’m all for soft and creamy cleansers that leave my skin feeling clean but nourished at the same time, and the Milky Jelly Cleanser certainly ticks both those boxes for me. The smooth jelly-like consistency makes applying it to the skin feel like such a treat, and while it’s not the best at removing my favourite NYX liquid liner (an oil is needed to do this properly), it’s my go-to cleanser in the mornings to make sure my skin is rid of impurities. It also includes rosewater so it has a lovely and refreshing scent, perfect for waking me up in the morning!
There seems to be a theme across all of my recent skincare as I gravitate towards anything that claims to hydrate or moisturise – my skin is really feeling the cold weather this winter and is prone to dry patches and flaking. I like to reach for the Priming Moisturizer after my day cream but before applying makeup as I like that it provides an extra layer of hydration – ensuring my makeup applies smoothly and sits well on the skin all day long. As well as providing a great base for foundation, it also does a lovely job of blurring my large pores and reducing any redness on my cheeks.
Last but not least is the lip balm that I just cannot be without – it lives on my dressing table and is applied every single morning before I do my makeup. I’m sure you’ve all heard about Balm Dotcom already but I just had to give it my own little rave review as it has done an amazing job of soothing and hydrating my winter-chapped lips. I opted for the Birthday flavour as I’m a fan of all things sweet, not to mention the fun holographic tube that it comes in. I’ll definitely be investing in more flavours of this fab balm – one for the office and one for keeping in my handbag, at least – and couldn’t recommend it enough if you suffer from dry lips too!
