Manicure Monday – Models Own Grape Juice

It has been far too long since I last wrote a Manicure Monday post, so today I thought it was about time I got back to it! I can’t quite believe that we’re nearly through with August already, and this means that I’ll soon be moving from my beloved pastel nail shades to something darker and most likely berry coloured. As a last hurrah to the summer I raided my Models Own Fruit Pastel Collection, and finally decided to paint my nails with the gorgeous Grape Juice.

As you can see, Grape Juice is a beautiful pastel lilac shade that I think instantly makes your hands look so pretty and polished. Lilac may not be the most groundbreaking shade as I’m sure there are a million and one lilac nail polishes out there, but there’s just something special about Grape Juice as it’s quite white toned and really stands out on the nails. The opaque colour seen in the photo below was achieved in 2 coats which is absolutely fine by me, and I found that the Fruit Pastel Collection had slightly thicker formulas to the rest of the Models Own polishes which gets a big thumbs up from me. Anybody else love thick nail polish formulas as much as I do?

While I like to save my pastel shades for the spring and summer months, I still can’t help myself all year and will probably be donning a similar shade to this while the snow is falling in winter. Another little perk of this particular polish is that it’s scented which might seem gimmicky to some, but I personally love it as the smell reminds me of the scented gel pens that little 8 year old me used to obsess over.
