My January favourites

It’s the end of the month so that can only mean one thing.. it’s favourites time! January has been a good month for favourites as I’ve fallen in love with a few new things since Christmas time, and there’s a few old favourites included too as I just couldn’t stay away. I’ve also included a fitness favourite this month as I’d really fallen off the wagon at Christmas and needed to tone up (quite) a bit again. I hope the January blues didn’t hit you all too hard and that you still managed to have a good month!

Benefit Coralista: This is a blusher that comes back into my everyday makeup time and time again and for good reason too as it’s the prettiest peachy pink shade with a slight hint of shimmer. I’d say Coralista is the perfect spring/summer blusher shade as it’s quite subtle but it also gives a gorgeous highlighting glow to the cheeks. As much as I’ve been loving my NARS One Night Stand palette for blushers, I had to reach for this old favourite again.

MAC Plumful:  I’ve had this lipstick kept in my bag since I received it at Christmas and it has had so much wear already. Plumful is a gorgeous plummy pink shade which is so easy to wear on an everyday basis. The lustre formula of Plumful means that it’s more on the sheer side although it can also be built up if you want a more intense plum colour on the lips.

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Fuchsia Libre: I’ve also been loving this Bourjois Crayon this month as it’s the perfect shade of bright pink for giving your lips a pop of colour without going overboard. I’m still not the most adventurous when it comes to lip colour but these crayons have been a massive help as they’re so glossy and pigmented. I’ll be posting a full review of the range very soon so keep your eyes peeled!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: I just had to include this beauty as I’ve been reaching for a large majority of the time since Christmas. The hype surrounding the Naked 3 palette was very justified in my opinion as this selection of 12 neutrals is just too pretty for words and the Urban Decay eyeshadow formulas are as good as always. The thought of putting pink-toned shadows on my eyes worried me a little bit to begin with but the pinks are surprisingly flattering so I couldn’t be more pleased with this palette.

Aussie Mega Shampoo: I’ve been looking for a deep cleansing shampoo which gives my hair a bit of volume and I think this one might just be the answer. Mega Shampoo is intended to give your hair a good clean without leaving any build up which can weigh your hair down, and I have to say that it’s doing the job very well. My hair is looking squeaky clean and even has a bit of lift at the roots so it’s a job well done by Aussie. The shampoo also smells delicious which is always a bonus.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: I’ve recently posted about this micellar water (here) and had to include it in my January favourites as it has been such a handy product to have. It’s great for removing your makeup when you just can’t be bothered giving your face a proper cleanse (I know we all have those lazy moments), and it’s also a nice way to freshen up your skin if it’s feeling a bit dull. Plus it’s an absolute bargain at just £2.99 in Savers, hurrah.

Ministry of Sound Pump It Up Dancemix: I wanted to chuck in a bit of a random favourite this month as I’ve been absolutely loving this dance workout DVD for keeping myself moving and getting a bit of quick exercise in. I’ve tried the 30 Day Shred, pilates and Zumba but I’m one of these people who just can’t seem to stick at exercise unless I really enjoy it. Enter the Pump It Up Dancemix which is just perfect for me as I was a dancer for years and still very much enjoy having a good dance to fun and upbeat routines. The dance routines are fast paced to keep your heart rate up so they can be a bit tricky to master at the start, but soon enough you’ll be a pro and can just dance along with Gareth (celeb choreographer) and the girls. The music is great fun too, so this DVD gets a massive thumbs up for me!
