Today I wanted to share my favourite winter lip products with you, and my oh my, it was so difficult to narrow it down to just five! These past few months have seen me turn into an absolute lip junkie and I just can’t stop adding to my stash as there are so many lovely lipsticks out there. The winter season tends to be my time for experimenting with colours and different formulas, and there’s something about plum shades that I just can’t resist. I hope you like my winter lip picks and please tell me about your favourites in the comments below as I’m always looking for new things to try!
Swatches L-R: The Damned, Plumful, Candy Apple, Cruella, Celestial
Topshop The Damned – the one for fans of bright berry lips. This creamy lipstick is a great dupe for the very popular MAC Rebel and it’s the one I reach for when I want to go a bit bolder with my lips during the winter months. I like to pair this lipstick with neutral eye makeup and rosy cheeks.
MAC Plumful – the one for those who want a wash of plum but nothing too intense. Plumful is a gorgeous plum shade that is perfect for everyday wear, and the lustre formula means that the lipstick is more on the sheer side. Of course it can also be built up if that’s what you like!
MAC Candy Apple – the one for those who aren’t quite ready to wear a bold red shade. I’m still a little bit scared of wearing bright red lips, but I’m not quite sure why. Candy Apple is a lovely red shade with a slight hint of plum (can you see a trend here..), and what I love is that it can be worn as a light wash of red or built up to a more intense colour. This colour definitely screams winter to me!
NARS Cruella Velvet Matte Lipstick – the one for all you matte fans out there. Cruella is a an absolutely stunning red lip pencil that I like to reach for when I’m feeling a bit more brave, although also I think this colour would be absolutely perfect for the Christmas party season! The matte formula isn’t drying and wear time is great so this lip pencil gets a bit thumbs up from me.
Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial – the one for fans of super glossy lip colours. Celestial is a lovely dusty pink shade that I especially love to wear in the winter time as the colour is muted but still quite noticeable against my pale skin. The Apocalips are extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way and they also leave a nice stain on the lips.
