Have you ever had a beauty product that you just couldn’t get on with in the beginning, but after some time it managed to change your mind? This is what has happened with the following 2 products and I thought it would be a good idea to tell you why I didn’t like them in the first place and how they’ve managed to make their way back into my everyday stash. It’s always nice to pick up a previously unloved item and finally get some use out of it & I’m sure a lot of you will agree with me there!
A few months ago I posted a review of MAC Shy Girl (here) and unfortunately the warm toned neutral colour just wasn’t doing it for me. I’ve always been more suited to pinky tones as opposed to the peach tone of Shy Girl and for that reason it got lost at the back of my acrylic lipstick holder, but I’m happy to say that I’ve actually been reaching for it over the last few weeks. Hurrah! I think this is really just down to the fact that I’ve started using a gradual tanning lotion in preparation for spring/summer and the warm tones of this lipstick now suit my slightly more tanned skin. I think this will be restricted to a spring/summer shade for me, although that really just depends when I’m a bit more tanned!
The other product that has changed my mind over the last couple of months has been the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray (review here). I previously reported back that this spray wasn’t really doing anything for my roots and the amount of volume of my hair, but I’ve finally found it’s giving my roots a good lift now. I don’t know if I just wasn’t applying this spray properly or that I wasn’t using enough, but at least I can happily use the product and know that it’s doing some good to the appearance of my hair. I still can’t quite get on board with the strong chemical scent of this spray but apart from that I’m finally a happy camper.
Are there any products that have changed your mind over time?
