When it comes to makeup for the Christmas party season, I think we can all agree that glitter should be at the top of everyone’s list! I for one take the opportunity to go all-out with glitter over Christmas and New Year as I don’t normally find an excuse to cover my face in glitter for the rest of the year, and for me at least, it’s all about the eyes. My favourite look during the party season has to be a glittery eye which is quite smoky and paired with plenty of liner and mascara, and today I wanted to put together a few of my favourite glitter eyeshadows that I think would be party-perfect this Christmas!
My first port of call will always be my MAC palette, and inside the palette I have a few glittery shadows that couldn’t be more perfect for the party season. I don’t think you can go wrong with All That Glitters (beige with gold pearl), Amber Lights (peachy-brown with shimmer) and Woodwinked (warm antique gold) if you’re looking for a sparkly eyeshadow this Christmas, and what I love is that all three can be built up to give you an incredibly glittery finish if that’s what you’re after!
Another palette that I love to use at this time of the year is the Urban Decay Naked 3, a palette which is packed full of gorgeous rosy tones and a number of glitter-packed shades. My glittery favourites from the palette are Dust (pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter), Buzz (metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter) and Trick (light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-sparkle).
Last but not least is something a little bit different for me, and that’s a loose pigment for the eyes. After hearing so much about the Illamasqua Pure Pigments I eventually got around to picking one up for myself, and I have the shade Furore (champagne peach shimmer). Believe me when I say that this loose pigment looks incredible when it’s packed all over the lid, and it’s the shimmering shadow I think I’ll be wearing for the Christmas party I’m going to tonight!
I’d love to know – what’s your favourite glittery eyeshadow for the party season?
