If you’re feeling frazzled and in need of a little pick-me-up, I hope this post might come in handy.
My working week in marketing normally means an extremely busy 9-5 with very little energy left afterwards, so I like to try and catch as much sleep as I can each night. I was lucky enough to receive a Fitbit at Christmas and one of the things that it’s highlighted to me is that I really don’t get as much sleep as I once thought, so I try everything I can to help unwind in the hours before bedtime and maximise those zzz’s. Here are a few of the things that help me unwind…
A relaxing bath
There’s nothing nicer than switching off and indulging in a bath, so of course it had to be top of my list. My bath product of choice when it comes to unwinding is the Neal’s Yard Remedies Aromatic Foaming Bath thanks to its incredibly relaxing lavender and geranium scent. It also foams up nicely so you can be sure you’re in for a treat with this bubble bath.
A little help from This Works
It’s no secret that I’ve really fallen in love with the Deep Sleep range from This Works as I find it does actually help me sleep, and these 2 products have to be my favourites from the range. The Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is one that I’m sure most people have heard of, but if you haven’t already tried it then I’d really recommend you give it a go. I find a couple of quick spritzes on my pillow helps me settle much quicker, meaning I’m drifting off much easier.
The other product I’ve really enjoyed using is the Deep Sleep Breathe In – a handy roller-ball with the same relaxing scent as the Pillow Spray, perfect for applying to pulse points in the evening before you go to bed. I tend to sleep with my hands near my face so I like to add a little of this product to my wrists, and I find this really helps me unwind whether it’s used with the Pillow Spray or not.
A good book
Last but not least, I had to include a book. I’m really trying to wean myself off devices in the evenings as I really made a habit of being glued to my phone, tablet or laptop right before bedtime, making it very difficult to switch off and get a good night’s sleep. I’m currently reading An Edited Life from Anna Newton (or The Anna Edit if you’re a fan of her blog/channel) and I’m finding it a great source of motivation for getting more organised in both my home life and working life!
